When the windsock stands straight out

Eight browser games in the crew tent
for mornings too gusty to launch

Some mornings the wind is up before the sun, the envelopes stay rolled in their bags and Hobbin hangs his goggles on a tent pole in the canvas crew tent at the edge of the lea. On a folding table sits a laptop with eight free browser games: a modern base war, a Norse clan feud, a city that travels through the ancient world, a cheerful hospital, a football club, a factory market, a star empire and an airline run from a map. Every one of them loads in a plain tab with nothing to set up.

Airlines Manager: Tycoon

Airline business on a live world map · Trade & tycoons

A balloon pilot never quite stops thinking about the sky, so this is the tab Hobbin opens first. Here the map shows real airports, and you link them with routes, match every aircraft to the passengers waiting, raise money for the fleet from the bank, and let research and cabin service settle what each ticket can cost.

Price for all eight: free to join, with optional purchases inside the games.

01

Nothing to pay at the tent flap

Not one of the eight asks for a fee to join. The airline, the base, the stronghold, the city, the wards, the squad, the factories and the star empire are all there from day one, and months of play cost nothing.

Every studio keeps a side counter of speed-ups and decorations, and leaving it closed is perfectly normal. A shared family laptop can usually have a spending cap switched on in the account settings.

02

A first gusty morning

Tap a game's coral button and a fresh tab carries you to the makers' home page. Sign up there with an email, and before long an airline, a camp, a hospital or a club is waiting under your chosen name.

Every title walks beginners through a little opening lesson, and it pays to finish it, because menus and money arrive one at a time, the way Hobbin walks a new crew member round the burner and the tether before a first launch.

03

Quick looks and long grey days

None of the eight pauses when you leave: aircraft land, patients wait, warbands come home and stock builds up in the warehouse. A peek with the morning tea and another after the washing-up keeps it all steady.

Save the quick peeks for collecting, lining up builds and answering allies. Leave a properly grey, gusty day for the weighty choices, like a new hub airport, a clan pact or a second factory chain.

04

Guard your login like a burner key

Sign-in details live with the company behind each title, so enter them on its genuine address and nowhere else. Hobbin carries a separate key for every burner on the lea; give every game its own password in the same spirit, and turn on any extra login check a studio provides.

No real member of staff will ever want your password. Any stranger offering a pile of premium currency for your sign-in has the whole account in mind; Hobbin's rule is to say nothing back and press report.

Why these eight earned a place in the crew tent

  • A normal laptop browser is enough for every one, so a grounded morning can turn into a busy one before the kettle boils.
  • Joining costs nothing in any of them, and Hobbin has met long-serving players who reached the later stages while leaving every shop shut.
  • Builds, marches and flights carry on while the lid is closed, so a glance between weather checks still moves each game along.
  • The spread is wide: armies, a clan stronghold, an ancient city, hospital wards, a squad, factories, a star empire and a fleet of airliners.
